Thomas Ince

b. 8 January 1659/60
FatherWilliam Ince
MotherSarah Meppome
Thomas Ince was baptized on 8 January 1659/60 at Chiddingly, Sussex, England, mother's name not given.1 He was the son of William Ince and Sarah Meppome.
Thomas Ince married Mary (?) circa 1690.
Thomas is recorded as a poor labourer that received contribution from the parish.1
Thomas Ince was buried on 20 February 1729 at St Bartholomew, Chalvington, Sussex, England, "parish clerk".2
The burial record says "parish clerk" which doesn't seem to fit with someone previously described as a "poor labourer". However, this is the only family in Chalvington at that time, and a "widow Ince" was buried one year later in 1730. Maybe Thomas was asked to do some parish clerk duties in exchange for the relief he received from the parish?3
